There are three on this path up, and further up you can spot the forms of four sitting Farron Followers up the road along with a body holding a Large Soul of an Unknown Traveler. Attack from a distance, or dart in quick to get some hits and then either get behind to hop back out of reach of their branches for before attacking again.
Dark soul 3 map full#
Unlike the previous ones you’ve seen, these Weeping Willows will attack you if you come close, wrapping their branches down around to hold you in place while they give you a face full of frostbite, and will sometimes lash out with their branches with surprising reach. Only, the “hair” on these trees are blowing in the wind too. Take the right path and you’ll have to contend with more wolves - the big one will try to howl for more help - and the path wraps back around to a steep narrow path passing by several of those human-shaped trees. Once the wolves are taken care of, grab the Rusted Coin from the body in the center, you can either head left up the steep hill, move right, or continue down. These wolves are much tougher than dogs, but like the hounds, will attempt to confuse you by moving in circles and waiting for the best time to strike. Be careful as you engage the three in the center - if they begin to howl, the other pack on the left will answer the call and come down to ambush you, so either take them out quick or lure them back up the hill. If you look closely about your surroundings, you may be able to spot several wolves hiding on the left and down the center path by another corpse. There are also several frozen bodies of Farron Followers lying about - meaning something got to them before you. You’ll now be in at the entrance to a large forested area, with the body holding a Rime-blue Moss Clump in front of you. Leaving that group behind, you’ll come to a snowy embankment with a body lying in the snow - but before you can grab it the snow will give way dropping you down into a ravine, blocking your access back to the bonfire. There’s also one more firebreather guarding the road as you clear out the rest of the Followers, so beware his patrol down the road. Defeat it by dodging or blocking the swipes, and claim the Poison Gem it was guarding.īack on the main road, the hill opposite the area you were in has four more Followers hiding on the hilltop - with a fifth firebreather waiting to jump down from a high ledge. Past him, you’ll find a new type of enemy, a Fly Creature, that will lunge with its four arms to attack. This one carries a new type of torch that he will use to spit fire in an arc - so be wary of his sweeping attacks. There’s another follower behind the rocks. You’ll find one such follower as you move up the path and find a Large Soul of an Unknown Traveler by some rocks, with the enemy lurking off to the right. These hollows often use javelins to throw from afar, or jab and swipe up close - and may even use a charge attack. What may bother you are the shambling corpses of Farron Followers. Move out into the snowfield taking the low path between the two hills, noting that some trees look more… human… than others - however they will not bother you. Another nearby message will suggest that players clear out Lothric Castle first - a good sign of comparative difficulty. Again, only players around level 80 or higher should venture forward.
Leaving the cave, you will come upon the Snowfield bonfire, and a message warning you that only the mighty may proceed. You can speak to him to learn more about where you are, and grab 2 Rime-blue Moss Clump on the body next to him. Directly behind you is a Corvian - a friendly one at that. Once you enter the Painted World of Ariandel and regain yourself, you’ll be in a small cave.
